The new fire and smoke damper inspection requirements
create further challenges for building owners. More specifically
proper access to dampers 12" square and smaller, unless you
have adequate access, it's next to impossible for a technician
to properly inspect and maintenance fire and smoke dampers
with a standard access door. 2021 International Mechanical
Code 607.4.1 Access and 2021 International Building Code
717.4.1 Access both state dampers equipped with fusible
links, internal operators, or both shall be provided with an
access door that is not less than 12 in. (305mm) square or
provided with a removable duct section. Sure•Clamp™ Access
provides a practical solution to the challenges posed by the
new fire and smoke damper inspection requirements. By
offering a removable duct section, it allows technicians easier
access to inspect and maintenance dampers, thereby
reducing time and costs associated with inspections by 50%.
Plus, ensuring compliance with maintenance requirements can
help mitigate the risk of fire damper failure. Sure•Clamp
Access™ is a valuable product for building owners looking to
reduce cost, streamline their inspection processes and
maintain regulatory compliance.
